Facilities and Technology
Polinter owns three production lines for the production of a wide and varied array of commercial degrees of Polyethylene Venelene® in order to satisfy the specific requirements of different applications and markets.
1. Low-Density Polyethylene (PEBD) and Polyethylene Mixes (PEBD/PELBD)
|
|
 |
|
The productive process of this line comprises of high pressure and is given in an autoclave. Production begins with the stage of compression of ethylene until reaching operation pressure of the reactor, wherein agents catalyze the polymerization. Fused polyethylene product of the polymerization is fed to an extruder in which is mixed with different additives.
Granules are dried by centrifugation and transported to homogenization storage tanks in order to be packed in 25 kg sacks, in big bags up to a metric ton and in bulks.
The line of Polyethylene of Low Density (PEBD) has a capacity of 80.000 Metric Tons / year for the manufacturing of Polyethylene Venelene® required in the following processes of transformation:
| • |
Injection (Lids, toys and general use utensils) |
| • |
Extrusion of films (Thermal shrinkable, co-extrusion, layering, precut bags, boutique bags) |
| • |
Covering by Extrusion (Substrates such as: paper, cardboard, aluminum, bOPP, mOPET) |
| • |
Extrusion of Flexible Pipes |
| • |
Blown Extrusion (Containers for drugs) |
|
|
2. High Density Polyethylene Line (PEAD)
This line uses CX process, worldwide known due to its capacity of producing a wide variety of products in which are included High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (HMW-HDPE) and Bimodal Polyethylene.
In this process of synthesis, the ethylene, hydrogen, catalyzers and hexane are introduced in shaking reactors, generating a paste of polymer in hexane. Thereafter, by means of a process of centrifugation and drying, it is separated the polymer of the hexane. Once removed the hexane, the Polyethylene dust is mixed with additives and extruded in order to be granulated. Finally, the product is dried, homogenized and packed in 25 kg sacks, big bags of up to a metric ton and in bulks.
The line of High Density Products (PEAD) has a capacity of 100.000 Metric Tons / year for the production of Polyethylene Venelene® used in the following processes of transformation:
|
|

 |
• Extrusion of films (T-Shirt bags, precut bags and boutique bags).
• Blown Extrusion: Containers from 1 to 60 L and barrels of up to 220 L.
• Extrusion of Pipes: ISO PE80 and PE100.
3. Line of Lineal Polyethylene
This line of Polyethylene uses the Sclairtech polimerization technology in median pressure and temperature solution; for its production uses a mix of ethylene and an optional co monomer (Buthene or Octane depending on the product) solved in cyclehexane introduced in the reactor for its polymerization. At the exit of the reactor, other products are added in order to deactivate catalyzers and lately remove such components by means of a bed of active aluminum.
Before the stage of extrusion and granulating, the solution of Polyethylene in cyclehexane passes through a stage of extraction of volatiles, in which the solvent, the ethylene and the co monomer non-reacted are removed. The melted product flows towards the extruder in order to be granulated. The last stage of the process consists on the drying of the product and the packaging thereof upon the requirements of the customer: in 25-Kg sacks, Big Bags or in bulks in containers.
In this production line, High-Quality Polyethylene (PEAD), Medium Density (PEMD) and Low-Density Lineals (PELBD) can be obtained, as it has a installed capacity for the production of 190.000 Metric Tones / year, of Polyethylene Venelene®, used in the following processes of transformation:
• Co-extrusion and Layering (Automatic Packaging, Boutique Bags)
• Injection: Lids, Toys, General use items, buckets, crates and pallets
• Rotomolding: Tanks for storage of water and Barrels
• Extrusion of flexible cables and lining of wires.
